About the Artform

Tie and dye is a method of dyeing clothes by hand. As the name suggests, pieces of fabric and clothes are tied using rubber bands or threads. The dye is then poured on it. The tied areas are blocked from getting any dye on them and the rest of the fabric gets coloured. This results in beautiful patterns and a unique product every time!

It is said that the earliest samples of tie and dye were found in Peru and dated back to 500 AD.

Materials at your doorstep

• Comfortable 100% white cotton T-shirt (Different sizes available)
• 2 Color dyes
• Gloves to keep your hands clean
• 2 Squeezy bottles for the colors 
• Rubber bands and jute Ropes for tying
• Few fabric swatches
• A dedicated workstation (Hard plastic sheet)

Other Materials Required:

• A bucket of water
• Few coins
• A spacious place to do the process
