Songs of Assam – Gopini Prem is a Classical Dance performance in the styles of Sattriya, Odissi and Mohiniattam presenting the Bhakti songs of 15th Century saint-poet Shrimanta Shankardev from Assam. Featuring acclaimed dancers Prateesha Suresh, Rasika Gumaste and Aneri Sheth; let us take you back to the lilting music and lyrical flow of the songs steeped in devotion to Krishna.

The ethereal and sublime love of the Gopis towards their Krishna is brought out in many shades by these dancers as they look at him as a friend, a lover, a mother and as a devotee. You will witness the undulating movements of Sattriya like the waves of the river, the serpentine movements of Mohiniattam like the creepers of a tree and the energy of Odissi like the rush of the waters of the ocean.
