"Imagine someone in power." What picture flashed in your mind? Who created this idea of power in you? Have you ever questioned where it came from? Have you ever thought of the power that you hold?

This workshop will explore preconceived ideas of power and learn how to play with it through theatre games and activities. This open class will provide you with tools as a facilitator (whether you work in rehearsal rooms, classrooms, workshop or other facilitation settings) to explore various definitions of power in different contexts, and build conversations around it. This workshop is open to facilitators, educators, actors, directors, researchers and professionals of various disciplines, to experiment with the idea of power in the spaces they occupy and the work they create.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Vandana is an applied theatre practitioner and founder of Rang Karwan. She is a Journalist by education and an artist by birth. With her passion being music and dance since childhood, she enjoys working with adolescents and youth. Her interests and practice lies in creating spaces for communities and using arts in learning and pedagogy. She also believes and practices a minimalist and sustainable lifestyle.
